H2O Geomatics is currently working with C-CORE and Airbus to develop a simulator for the Canadian Space Agency and Environment and Climate Change Canada. This simulator is part of the larger Terrestrial Snow Mass Mission (TSMM). The simulator project kicked off in November 2022 and is expected to conclude early 2024.
H2O Geomatics will be developing the scene generation module for the simulator using the snow microwave radiative transfer (SMRT) model. Data on snow properties (depth, density, water content) will be used to parameterize the model and create simulated RADAR image scenes. The results of the simulator will help to inform the planned Dual Ku-band TTSM satellite mission for cryosphere monitoring.
